My name is Ziang Liang. Currently, I am committed to pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in New Media. During my years of study at Thompson Rivers University, I have been like a sponge, absorbing knowledge in the fields of digital media production, audience engagement strategies, and emerging media technologies, and gradually building up my own knowledge framework. For a long time, several questions have been circling in my mind: how do digital platforms affect information dissemination? How can content be optimized to perfection for different audiences? And how is technology gradually changing the way we interact with the media? These questions attracted me like a magnet and made me firmly embark on the path of academic exploration in the field of new media.
In addition to studying textbooks, I am particularly fascinated by multimedia production, digital content strategy and audience analysis. I have been actively involved in programs such as video editing and social media content creation. Through these experiences, I have realized how important the skills honed from these projects are in today’s media environment, which is changing at a rapid pace. So whenever I have free time, I like to go out and take pictures or go on outdoor adventures. These hobbies are not only for fun, but they also give me the opportunity to experiment with various forms of media and think about how to incorporate this visual aesthetic.
I specialize in easily adapting content to different digital platforms. Whether it’s planning an engaging social media campaign, optimizing a video for maximum effect, or meticulously analyzing user data, I’ve grown to have a clear understanding of how media works across different channels, and some of TRU’s courses have been very helpful in giving me hands-on experience in content production, digital branding, and the use of interactive media.
I plan to be able to work in areas related to digital content production and media strategy in the future. I will further improve my abilities. The knowledge and experience I have gained during my university years give me the confidence to face various challenges that may arise in my future work.
